SMC designs over 30 commercial developments and over 20 housing additions per year. Recent site developments include Sooner Rose Shopping Center, OnCue Express, LEVEL Apartments, Moore-Norman Technology Center, and Norman Regional Hospital and Ft. Sill Apache Casino. Our residential projects include housing additions for Ideal Homes, Landmark Custom Homes, and Home Creations.

We have won numerous awards for our parking lot and roadway designs. Our design team has worked together for many years on site development projects and is unsurpassed in providing exceptional quality and expedient service.

ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH

SMC was contracted to provide basic engineering and site development services including prelim/final plat; paving & drainage; detention, water & sanitary sewer design to assist in construction of a new church building and to repurpose the current chapel for use as a parish hall and student center.

WHEELER DISTRICT

Wheeler is the next great urban neighborhood, inspiring redevelopment of long-neglected neighborhoods in downtown Oklahoma City. It is a 150 acre mixed-use development known for the old Downtown Airpark and the Ferris wheel that was erected in 2016 on the south riverbank. Phase one is under construction and SMC is currently working on Phase Two civil designs. SMC is providing construction plans for drainage & paving design, water and sanitary sewer layout and coordinating one-on-one with Developer and Builder to ensure client’s needs are met.

HarborChase Senior Living

New senior community in south Oklahoma City situated on 6 acres. The development will consist of 112 apartments for assisted living and memory care for integrated senior living. Studio, one and two-bedrooms units will be offered. SMC worked with architect providing basic site development services that included survey, environmental/geotechnical studies to design public and private utilities, drainage and paving plans, storm sewer plans, parking & lighting, on-site street design, grading & erosion control plan.

THE BOWER

The Bower is a project that began with three property owners who joined together for something much bigger than they could have done on their own. The site is on less that one acre of land. The Bower includes 8 Brownstones with individual lots and ownership and a tower with 24 condominiums. It has been designed with lots of natural light and includes green space for pet and kids. SMC helped with the platting and site development plans.

NORMAN NORTH HIGH SCHOOL

SMC was contracted with Architects In Partnership, LLC to help with the $20 million renovation of athletic and academic facilities at the site. The engineering services provided construction plans for private and public improvements for Norman North High School. These services included initial survey, preliminary investigations, preliminary drawings, probable cost estimates, and plans for sanitary sewer, waterline, drainage, transportation, zoning, land use and other utilities necessary to serve site.

TERRA AT UNIVERSITY NORTH PARK

Terra at University North Park is an innovative 300 unit apartment complex designed in partnership with the University of Oklahoma Foundation. It is located near a new and growing retail area in north Norman off Corporate Center Drive. SMC worked with the developer and architect to layout the 6 acre site during preliminary and construction phases of the development. Civil engineering services included survey and final platting; grading plan; and on-site private construction plans.

Castleberry Addition / Castleberry Villas

Located at NW192nd and May Avenue, Castleberry Addition is the best of both worlds having Edmond schools and Oklahoma City utilities, easy access to Hefner Parkway and Kilpatrick Turnpike. The subdivision is approximately 90 acres and designed to incorporate natural terrain, trails, and community green space for residents. Engineered by SMC to encourage slow neighborhood traffic and allow for safe pedestrian activity. Sections One and Two have been platted and remaining area is under development in 2019.

MOORE NORMAN TECHNOLOGY CENTER

SMC assisted architect with basic site engineering design for a 6,000 s.f. classroom addition which also doubles as a storm shelter capable of holding 500+ occupants. This work was paid for by a $60 million Bond Issue after tornados damaged buildings and schools in the area.

MOORE NORMAN TECHNOLOGY CENTER

SMC is currently working on the third phase of construction for the Norman Campus providing on-site construction plans, surveys, geotechnical investigations, and evaluation of drainage impacts and plans for drainage improvements for new buildings and the existing parking lot. SMC coordinates construction permitting and environmental permitting required by local and state agencies.

SOONER ROSE SHOPPING CENTER

Sooner Rose Shopping Center is located in Midwest City which is home to Tinker Air Force Base and one of Oklahoma’s largest employers. This development consists of approximately 40 acres of various retail and entertainment venues. Currently Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports, and BankFirst; with Burlington opening soon. Phases 2 and 3, which include Warren Theatre and Andy Altitude, are scheduled to be complete Spring of 2019. As the principal Civil Engineer, SMC planned and engineered the master site development work including site layout, parking areas, public and private street designs, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer extensions, storm water management controls, underground & above ground storm water detention systems and buildings pad construction in coordination with various architectural firms.

CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE

Norman, Oklahoma Located at I-35 West Service Road north of Rock Creek Road, SMC developed site for a 5,000 sq. ft. cottage-style architectural building with a 9 car garage that fits well with any neighboring residential or commercial areas. FT. SILL APACHE CASINO, HOTEL AND EVENT CENTER

SMC was the prime Civil Engineering Consultant for the Fort Sill Apache Casino project for the expansion of the Conference Center, Hotel, and current expansion. The 5-story Hotel, Conference Center, and Event Center were designed and retrofitted to fit with the existing “Tent” Casino. This added additional 130,000 s.f. of entertainment floor space. Ft. MOSAIC and LEVEL URBAN Apartments

Located in Oklahoma City in the historic Deep Deuce District, along NE 2nd Street between Walnut and Oklahoma Avenue. Mosaic is a 6-story building with neither a front or back hosting incredible views of Oklahoma City. One and two bedroom apartments built atop a two-level podium of parking. A modern, walkable, mixed-use community.

Oklahoma City Zoo Asian Exhibit

Civil Engineer: SMC Consulting Engineers, PC Architect: Torre Design Consortium, New Orleans The two-phase Asian exhibit, covers 11 acres, and is the largest most expensive project in OKC Zoo history. The first phase cost $23 million. It consists of a natural habitat designed for elephants and takes the visitor on a journey through Southeast Asia along a river. The second phase is currently under construction and features rhinos and pandas. The addition of a Thai Temple hill-top restaurant will provide a grand view of the zoo campus. This phase is set to open 2018.

WALMART STORE #7189-00

4101 N. May Avenue (I-44) Oklahoma City, Oklahoma This store opened March 2016 and was built specifically for small business owners in mind. It will stock larger bulk items and offer curb side pickup for on-line orders. This site also includes automotive services and a fueling station in the north parking lot. The 13 acre site was once home to the most successful car dealership in the United States, Lynn Hickey Dodge. Mr. Hickey’s hijinks included annually climbing inside a van, lifted by a crane over the parking lot and he was known to explode Chevys or Fords to help boost his car sales. In June 1994, a record 2,851 cars were sold and a monument including everyone’s name is still on the property. SMC has a 30-year relationship as a civil engineer for Walmart.

IDEAL HOMES

Client Reference: Zack Roach Phone: (405) 364-1152 SMC has worked with Ideal Homes for decades as their prime engineering consultant, preparing site development plans and layouts of their multi-acre residedntial subdivisions. Most of these subdivions are located in or near Oklahoma City, Edmond/Deer Creek, and Norman. Valencia Addition, Red Canyon Trails and Little River Trails are examples of how open-space has been protected and used for outdoor spaces, parks, and green areas to be enjoyed by residents. These spaces incorporate natural and man-made trails, playgrounds, sitting areas, dog areas, playing fields, ponds and creeks.

OnCUE EXPRESS

OnCUE Express is a chain of convenience stores located throughout Oklahoma. SMC is proud to be their civil engineer. Over 15 stores were opened in 2011 and 2012 and future plans are to have over 70 publically accessible CNG stations located near major Interstate highway, making Oklahoma one of the largest CNG markets in the country. Recent store openings include Stillwater, Del City and Enid. Multiple stores under construction in 2016.

LANDMARK FINE HOMES

2740 Washington Drive, Norman, OK Isaac Christian, Land Development, (405) 292-5263 SMC has provided engineering site development services to Landmark since early 2000. Landmark builds custom homes in subdivisions located in Oklahoma City, Edmond, and Norman.

OKLAHOMA STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY

2920 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma The OSBP building was completed in 2013. Designed by Krittenbrink Architecture, Inc. is one of the most energy efficient buildings on the State Capital campus. The building uses ultra-high efficiency geothermal heating, ventilation and air conditioning. SMC provided title work, survey, and basic civil site design. GLENPOOL CONFERENCE CENTER AND CITY HALL

12205 S. Yukon Avenue, Glenpool, Oklahoma The Glenpool Conference Center and the City Hall was completed in 2011. The Conference Center and the City Hall has provided an opportunity for the City to develop the 80 acres of the abandoned oil and tank battery storage site to a large scale commercial and office space complex.
